Got Fishing Fever? Reel-In The Best Fishing Gifts
There no excuses. If you’re too busy to go fishing, you’re too busy. But the right fishing gifts can be a welcome reminder to head down to your favourite fishing spot. They’ll get your fishing fever rising with anticipation of catching another epic salmon or whiting (or maybe even a Yellow Octopus!). So to make sure you’re set to go, we’ve highlighted some key points on fishing tools, fishing knots, and how to get your kids fishing!
Get the Perfect Fishing Tools
No fishing gear is complete without the right fishing tools. That’s why our range of fishing gear online focuses on the essential fishing tools. Your fishing shirt doesn’t matter, you’re not fishing for compliments. But your fishing tools matter, they help you attract, reel-in, and prepare all those fish you’re going to catch. A multi-tool for fishing is so useful because you can always have what you need in your pocket or tackle-box immediately. If you’ve got your fishing multi-tool, you’ve got all the fishing tools you’ll need. And nothing’s better than having a big fish on the line and knowing you’ve got the right fishing tools to deal with him.
What You Need To Know About Fishing Knots
While there are many fishing knots you can learn, there are two must know fishing knots. You (or more specifically, your fishing gear) won’t last a day by the river without them. What are they? And how do you tie them? Let’s take a look…
1. The Palomar Knot (for tying a piece of line to your hook)
> First, double your line and make a loop. Now, push the loop through the eye of your hook.
> Second, tie a loose overhand knot.
> Now, pass the loop around the end of the hook.
> Fourth, tighten the line by pulling on it.
> Finally, if you need to, trim the loose end of the line.
2. The Blood Knot (for connecting two different sections of fishing line together)
> Firstly, line up the ends of each line together for several inches. Now, wrap the first line around the second (at least five times).
> Secondly, wrap the second around the first at least five times. Then bring both loose ends back to the middle between the two lines.
> Finally, pull tight on each line until the knot is nice and snug tight.
Got the basic idea? Then now it’s time go and grab yourself a fishing knot kit to practice.
